Important Tips for JoSAA Document Submission

Keeping these tips in mind can help avoid last-minute confusion or seat cancellation:

  • Scan all documents in advance – Do not wait until the day of reporting. Keep clean, clear scans ready before Round 1 results on June 13.
  • Check OBC-NCL certificate date – It must be issued for the current financial year (2025-26). Older certificates are rejected.
  • Match photo exactly – Passport photos must match the one uploaded during JEE registration.
  • File size & format – Each document must be within the size limit set on the JoSAA portal (typically under 1 MB per file in JPEG or PDF format).
  • Keep originals ready – Physical originals may be required at the time of institute reporting after final seat allotment.
  • Do not miss the deadline – The document upload and fee payment window for each round is typically 10–12 days. Missing it means permanent cancellation from that round.
  • Use the Float option – If you want a chance at a better seat but already have an allotted one, use "Float" (not Freeze) during reporting. This keeps you eligible for upgrades in subsequent rounds.
