According to the Best Countries Rankings 2023, released by the U.S. News & World, Switzerland secured the title of the world's best country for the second consecutive year and sixth time overall. Canada ranked second on the list, followed by Sweden, Australia, and the United States. While India ranked 33 in 2023 with an overall score of 40.8.

• These countries were evaluated on the basis of 73 attributes like dynamism, safety, economic stability, and commitment to social justice.
• The ranking is based on 10 thematic sub-rankings, which are as follows:

  9. Quality of Life
  10. Social Purpose
• Debut countries: Cyprus, Honduras, and Zimbabwe
• The United States slipped to one rank from 4 (in 2022) to 5 (in 2025).
• The top 25 countries on the list were dominated by the 16 European Countries.
• Rank of Asian Countries: Japan (6), Singapore (16), China (20), and South Korea (21)
• Bottom countries: Cameroon (78), Algeria (79), Myanmar (80), Honduras (81), Serbia (82), Uzbekistan (83), Kazakhstan (84), Lebanon (85), Belarus (86), and Iran (87)
