The government of India has released the list of winners of the Padma Awards 2024, under which India's first female elephant mahout, Parbati Baruah will also be conferred with the Padma Shri award 2024. The winner list also included Gurvinder Singh, who is a Divyang social worker from Sirsa, plastic (reconstructive) surgeon and social worker, Prema Dhanraj, and Yazdi Maneksha Italia, who pioneered the development of India’s inaugural Sickle Cell Anemia Control Program (SCACP).
