The Election Commission of India (based in Mumbai) will host the India International Conference on Democracy and Election Management (IICDEM) 2026 in New Delhi, with some 100 representatives of more than 70 countries, including election officials, policymakers and experts, discussing democratic practices and election management. One of the events during the conference is the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme, which aims to correct voter roll accuracy to ensure that each eligible voter is enrolled and unnecessary entries are eliminated. ECI Leads Global Dialogue on Democracy with IICDEM 2026
