The vision of the Shram Shakti Niti 2025 draft is to have an inclusive workforce and to make India future-ready. It is concerned with the implementation of a unified labour, employment, and social security policy. The policy focuses on universal and portable social security with one digital account, which bridges EPFO, ESIC, PM-JAY, and e-Shram platforms. It encourages the participation of women in the workforce, occupational safety, and green jobs and stimulates skill growth and future employment on a digital level. Another goal of the policy is to transform the Labour Ministry into an active facilitator of employment and provide fair wages, decent working conditions, and easy compliance to enhance the labour ecosystem in India in the process of sustainable growth.
India Shram Shakti Niti 2025 is an extension of the reforms in the labour sector.
Unites 29 laws into four significant codes:
Code on Wages (2019): Provides minimum pay and equal pay.
Industrial Relations Code (2020): Makes trade union and dispute regulations easier.
Social Security Code (2020): Gig and unorganised workers covered.
Occupational Safety Code (2020): Enhances the safety in the workplace and the protection of migrants.
Article 23: Outlaws forced labour and bonded labour.
Article 24: Prohibits child labour in dangerous employment.
Article 39: Favours equal salaries and decent working conditions.
Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976: The acts of labour bondage are abolished by law.
Article 43A: Provides participation of workers in the management and social justice.
