The LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana is a new launched scheme to empower women in the rural India. Launch of Bima Sakhi Yojana:

The scheme will create employment opportunities for 2 lakh women owning Insurance agents known as Bima sakhis.

The new scheme the Bima Sakhi Yojana was launched in a year after the inauguration of the highly successful Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign that was started from Panipat.

Foundation Stone of Maharana Pratap Horticultural University:

PM also inaugurated the Maharana Pratap Horticultural University which is located in Karnal, Haryana and will prove to be beneficial in improving horticulture education and research.

The university will be set up with a budget of ₹ 700 crore and aims at providing graduate and post-graduate degrees in horticulture.
