Important Types of Coal

Anthracite -The highest grade of coal, composed of carbon; smelting of metals and heating of industries.

Bituminous -Medium-grade coal that is commonly used in the production of electricity and steel.

Lignite- Brown coal, which is of low grade and contains a lot of moisture; it is used in power plants that are thermal and are located close to the mines.

Peat -Bottom grade; coal producer, domestic fuel in other parts of the world.
