India has released the Tri-Service Exercise known as Trishul, which is a large-scale joint military operation of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The exercise, which will be undertaken along the western frontier, is aimed at developing operational coordination, combat readiness, and inter-services synergy. Trishul emphasizes a coordinated warfare strategy, air-sea-land coordination, and a quick reaction option in the high-threat setting. The exercise that will last over ten days will enhance the preparedness of the Indian defence force in terms of strategy and posture to meet the changing regional security needs. It is a sign of the increased focus on combined operational excellence and technology growth by the country in its armed forces in order to maintain national security and stability in the region.
Improve the organizational interoperability and inter-service coordination to allow the Army, Navy, and Air Force to work coordinately during a joint operation.
Conduct and prove lessons learnt from past large-scale operations and demonstrate to the world that India can act promptly and respond to any new challenge on the border.
Carry out multi-domain operations in complex terrain like deserts, coastal, and the Sir Creek region, and this will showcase the strategic power projection of India to the west coast frontier.
To reinforce the ground operation, the Indian Army has introduced main battle tanks, missile systems, and attack helicopters.
The Indian Air Force is deploying the Rafale and Su-30MKI fighter aircraft, drones, and key AEW/ C systems to provide real-time capability and air dominance.
The Indian Navy has been conducting destroyers and frigates, and fast-attack crafts to control the sea areas in conjunction with ground and air forces.
The Exercise Trishul is very large-scale, and the scope and seriousness of its operations are reflected in a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), which was issued to ensure that air routes were safe on a civil aviation operation.
The increment of the defence synergy and joint operational preparedness that India has is another important measure that was undertaken with the initiation of Exercise Ex Trishul. The exercise would improve the multi-domain coordination and rapid response capability through integrating the Army, Navy, and Air Force through involvement with the western frontier. It highlights the strategic readiness and willingness of India to ensure the security of the state and regional security.
