These include the 2025 Bihar Assembly Election that was conducted in two stages on 6 November and 11 November to select the whole 243 members of the state legislative assembly. Vote counting was done on 14 November. The election authorities conducted a Special Intensive Revision of the electoral rolls ahead of the polling and the revised electoral rolls showed approximately 7.42 crore registered voters. The initial turnout was an all-time high of 64.66, with high participation of voters in what was considered to be a high-stakes election.
NDA had 243 and 202 seats respectively, which is an indication of a sweeping majority.
BJP came out as the largest party that had 89 seats.
JD(U) got 85 seats, which strengthened its alliance.
LJP (Ram Vilas) gave 19 seats to the NDA.
Hindu Awam Morcha (Secular) received 5 seats, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha got 4 seats.
The NDA easily passed the two-thirds majority threshold, and it has a strong legislative mandate.
In the Bihar Assembly election of 2025, the voter turnout by women in the elections rose to 71.6 percent, beating that of men at 62.8 percent. This historic turnout by the female voters propelled to the highest turnout recorded by the electorate in the state's history of 66.91.
The NDA has been overwhelmingly elected to power by the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 which has marked a turning point in the political life of the state. As the BJP became the most powerful force, the mandate demonstrates the obvious inclination of the voters to stability and development. Not only does this reinforce the position of the alliance but also preconditions another stage of governance and continuity of policies in Bihar.
