The Tansen Sangeet Samaroh that was organized from December 15th to 19th, 2024 in Gwalior was the extra special event of the 100th Tansen Sangeet Samaroh in which people paid homage to the great tradition of Hindustani classical music and Tansen.
The festival was devoted to the centennial celebration of Maestro Tansen and was held between December 15 and 19, 2024 in Gwalior. Organized by the Madhya Pradesh Culture Department, the festival gave tabla legend Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri the Rashtriya Tansen Samman 2023 and Indore-based cultural NGO Sanand Nyas Sanstha the Raja Mansingh Tomar Samman 2023. Pandit Chaudhuri a Padma Shri awardee, specializes in Farukhabad gharana and contributed to the global music scenario. Sanand Nyas was awarded for recognition of classical music, drama, and festivals for more than 35 years. With this in mind the organization of the Tansen centenary celebrated by artists Shubha Mudgal, Ritwik Sanyal, and Remo Skelo proves the up-to-date value of Tansen’s contribution.
Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri was awarded with Rashtriya Tansen Samman 2023
Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, a Padma Shri recipient and tabla virtuoso from Kolkata, received the festival’s highest honor. It was initiated in 1980 and offers ₹5 lakh as cash and a citation plaque. Now associated with the Farukhabad Gharana, Chaudhuri said that receiving the award is a dream of a lifetime. He is recognized on a worldwide scale he danced for kings and queens, shared stages with legends like Stevie wonder and graduated young students at the Ali Akbar College of Music.
Indore-based Sanand Nyas Sanstha was awarded with the Raja Mansingh Tomar Samman 2023
Many cultural organizations were also honored, the Sanand Nyas Sanstha, a cultural organization based in Indore for 35 years received for its contribution to giving programs in Indian classical music, drama and festivals. The award was received by President, Jayant Madhav Bhise and secretary Sanjeev Babikar who called it a tribute to art lovers.

During the centenary festival such leading artists as Shubha Mudgal, Ritwik Sanyal, Remo Skelo performed to present Tansen Gharana for having been going strong still to the present day.
