Govt increases the reservation for Agniveer by 50 percent

The Ministry informed that 50 percent of the vacant constable positions in the Border Security Force (BSF) would be set aside on Friday (December 19, 2025). The ex-Agniveers will not be required to take the Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test, but the ex-Agniveers are likely to take such tests as written exams, as other candidates do.

About Agniveer Scheme

The 2022 recruitment policy, which was announced with violent demonstrations, was among the greatest problems of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The Ministry declared on the basis of protests that 10 percent of the total number of vacancies of the CAPFs will be filled by the Agnipath recruits who have served for four years before announcement. It has also declared a year’s age relaxation in its recruitment in the first batch and a year’s age relaxation in later batches. Agniveers will be recruited in the CAPFs in 2026 in the first batch.
