Madhya Pradesh has formally proclaimed 2026 as the Agriculture Year in an effort to boost the agrarian economy of the state as well as the well-being of the farmers in the state. Revenue is to be increased by 2.5 percent through the decision, announced by Governor Mangu Bhai Patel on Republic Day (26 January 2026) and supported by the state government; it focuses on raising the income of farmers, creating more jobs in the agricultural sector and other related fields, and the mechanization of agriculture.
