On 26 October 2023, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has officially inaugurated the 37th edition of the National Games in Goa.

He inaugurated the 37th National Games at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Fatorda, South Goa.

IndusInd Bank has partnered with the Viamericas Corporation to enhance the Fast Remit platform.

• Aim: To offer Non-resident Indians (NRIs) in the US digital inward remittance services through its platform i.e. ‘Indus Fast Remit’ platform.
• Exchange rate: This service will be offered on competitive exchange rates on remittances to India.

  • Non-resident Indians (NRIs) can process remittance transactions using the auto debit payment mode (ACH which refers to an automated clearing house) through their overseas bank accounts on their platform.
  • Relationship: The Viamericas Corporation will hold its existing Vostro relationship with IndusInd Bank

  • It is a type of bank accounts in which a correspondent bank holds on behalf of another bank.
  • Vostro refers to 'your', as in 'your account'.

 

3. Floating Rate Savings Bonds (FRSBs), 2020 (Taxable)

Recently, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has expanded the basket of products, that are offered through the Retail Direct Portal (RDP), allowing Individual (Retail) investors to subscribe to Floating Rate Savings Bonds (FRSBs), 2020 (Taxable).

• Nature: They are interest-bearing, non-tradeable bonds.

Recently, the Union Cabinet of India has approved a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with Japan on developing a semiconductor supply chain partnership.

• After The USA, Japan became the second Quad partner to sign an agreement with India for the joint development of the semiconductor ecosystem and maintain the resilience of its global supply chain.
