Satin Creditcare signs co-lending deal with Karnataka Bank

Satin Creditcare Network has entered into a master agreement for co-lending of loans to microfinance borrowers through a co-lending module in tranches with Karnataka Bank.

Sebi unveils norms for zero coupon instruments by NPOs

SEBI unveiled a roadmap for public issuance of ‘zero coupons zero principle’ instruments by not-for-profit organizations (NPOs) and listing of such instruments on the Social Stock Exchange (SSE).

Such instruments will be issued in dematerialized form only, and are not transferable.

Minimum issue size: Rs 50 lakh

Minimum application size: Rs 10,000

Minimum subscription required to be achieved will be 75% of the funds proposed to be raised through the issuance of such instruments.

Zero coupon zero principal instrument:

It is an instrument issued by a not-for-profit organisation (NPO)

It will be registered with the social stock exchange segment of a recognised stock exchange in accordance with the SEBI regulations.

The non-profit organisation (NPO) can use to raise funds.

Banks to remain well capitalized even under severe stress

Note: Indian scheduled commercial banks are required to maintain a CAR of 9% while Indian public sector banks are emphasized to maintain a CAR of 12%.

Bad loans from the farm sector remained high at 7%.

Asset quality in the retail loans segment has improved.

Baseline scenario:

The aggregate capital adequacy ratio of 46 major banks is projected to slip to 14.8% by September 2024 from 16.6% in September 2023.

The capital position will be at 12.2% under a severe stress scenario, well above the minimum capital requirement.

Gross non-performing asset (GNPA) ratio of all SCBs may improve to 3.1% by September 2024 from the current level of 3.2%.
