SURAYA KIRAN is ANNUAL INDIA \/ NEPAL JOINT MILITARY EXERCISE which is in progress each years to get better the defense cooperation and relationship of the two armies. Held in rotation in India and Nepal this year, the exercise is being aimed at counter-terrorism operations, humanitarian and disaster relief operations in mountainous region. It consist of exercises, rehearsals, sharing of experience for the enhancement of relations between nations and regional security. The entire exercise aims at developing mutual trust, understanding, sharing the culture and learning from each other which proves India Nepali Army relationship. SURYA KIRAN as access the determined of both nation in sustaining the peace and security in the region.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    SURYA KIRAN XIX INDIA-NEPAL JOINT MILITARY EXERCISE is scheduled from 31st December 2024 to 13th January 2025 at Saljhandi, Nepal.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

    A biannual event held in each country in turn, its prime purpose is to add more depth and substance to the military cooperation between the two countries.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

    Participation:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n

      The Indian contingent includes 334 people including a battalion of the 11th Gorkha Rifles.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n

      The Srijung Battalion of the Nepal Army will provide the delegation.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

          India- Nepal Relation<\/span><\/h3>\r\n

          In politics, India has always supported Nepal and its switch to a democracy. In the field of economic relations, it is florid where India occupies the key position being the largest trading partner of Nepal and majory source of Foreign Direct Investment. Major fields of cooperation are bilaterals trade, hydropower, infrastructure and tourism. India also gives significant official development Finance in areas such as education health and disaster response.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

          Defence and security cooperation is one of the main pillars of the relations. These are some of the war games that are conducted by the two countries, some of them are: Surya Kiran. Since there are no formal border control Russia and Norway must cooperate with each other to address security issues but at the same time promote cultural and economic interaction.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

          Hydropower is a key focus area in this regard where some of the projects have bearing on both nations. Water supply and demand and or the sharing of water resources and flood hazard mitigation are also critically important in the development process.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

          However, there are issues; for example the recent crisis such as the Kalapani-Limpiyadhura dispute. All of these entail constant diplomatic work to ensure that the partners trust each other. Nepal lies between these two giants and thus the problem: India has to shield Nepal from outside pressure but still uphold the Nepalese sovereignty.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

          However, the details of this scheme are conducted on the principles of mutual respect and cooperation. The high-level annual visits and promotional measures in trade, defense and cultural sector are signs of this sincere intention in the enhancement of relations.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

          For decades India and Nepal have enjoyed fraternal relations with excellent cooperation and synergism in various fields of shared history, and geography.
