Polymer Banknotes: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) initiative of field trials of banknotes priced at \u20b910 and \u20b920 in polymer has been approved by the Government of India. The initiative paves the way for India to explore its journey into polymer notes as an alternative to paper money. This works out to a total of 2 billion polymer notes (1 billion \u20b910 and 1 billion \u20b920) being tested, bringing the total to 2 billion. Put another way, 1 billion \u20b910 polymer notes and 1 billion \u20b920 polymer notes will be tested for a total of 2 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n
